Offline database deployment options (Windows)

This guide will provide useful information about the deployment of the CRS database.

Before the CRS data can be used, the CRS installation must be activated first by entering the licence code and submitting the online request to the Moditech licence server. The section about the offline database installation is mandatory for a functioning installation of the Crash Recovery System application.

Offline database installation

In case of an offline database installation, CRS Windows does not need to download the necessary database files. Because the Crash Recovery System needs the database files to work, we provide the latest database version in a zip file from our download server. After placing the database in the correct location, CRS will automatically recognize them.

The URL to the latest version of the CRS database is:
https://moditech-crs-blobstorage-weu.azureedge.net/crs-windows-initial-database/initial_data_crs_windows.zip

After CRS Windows is installed and activated, copy the extracted contents of the zip file to the following location on the system (Please note that the "Hidden items" option in File Explorer needs to be enabled for the path to become visible):
C:\ProgramData\Moditech Rescue Solutions\Crash Recovery System\Data

ATTENTION: make sure that during the process the crs.bin file in this directory is not deleted!

Offline database update

Every month Moditech releases updates of her database. These updates can also be downloaded from this URL
https://www.crashrecoverysystem.com/updateportal

When the download of the updates is done, you need to extract the contents of this ZIP file to the folder
C:\ProgramData\Moditech Rescue Solutions\Crash Recovery System\Data

Please make sure that you overwrite the files, if asked. This could mean that there are updates for already existing vehicles.

After copying, restart CRS Windows and the database files will be found automatically
